On the Clock With Matt Mason Be a Guest

Terms of Service

This site and the show On the Clock are run by Matt Mason, based in Michigan. Using the site means these terms apply to you. If you don’t agree with them, please don’t use it.

Using the site

Read it, quote it with attribution, send it to someone. Don’t scrape it, republish it wholesale, resell it, or use it to build a competing product. Don’t try to break it, overload it, or reach parts of it that aren’t public. The site is meant for adults; if you’re under 18, please don’t submit anything through it.

What’s here isn’t advice

The show, the report and everything else on this site are general information. They are not financial, legal, tax, accounting or investment advice, no professional relationship is created by reading them, and they are not a substitute for someone who knows your particular situation. Reading this site does not make Matt your consultant.

About results

Nothing here promises a particular outcome for your business. Where a specific figure from past work is mentioned, it is what happened in that engagement, under those conditions — it is not an average, not a projection, and not what you should expect. Any number found on the show is an estimate reached in thirty minutes from what a guest said on camera, without verification: a starting point for work, never a promise of a result. What you do with any of it is your decision, and the outcome is your responsibility.

The free report

Asking for the report means agreeing to be emailed about it and about the show, and every one of those emails has an unsubscribe link that works immediately. The report is yours to read and use in your own business. It isn’t yours to republish, resell, or hand around as your own work.

Coming on the show

Applying isn’t a booking, and applications are accepted or declined at Matt’s discretion. If a recording does go ahead, guests sign a short appearance release beforehand covering filming and publication — that document, not this page, is what governs the recording. The episode is public and so is what’s discussed in it. Say beforehand if something should stay off camera and it will. Guests keep a copy of the recording, and nothing is charged for appearing.

Paid work

Applying to work with Matt isn’t a booking either, and no payment is taken through this site. Consulting engagements run on a separate written agreement covering fee, scope, scheduling and cancellation. Where that agreement and this page disagree, the agreement wins.

What you send

What you write into a form here stays yours. Sending it gives Matt permission to read it, evaluate it, and reply to you — nothing more. Your business’s own information is not published, quoted, or used in marketing unless you agree to it separately. Please don’t send confidential material through a web form; if something is genuinely sensitive, wait until there is an agreement in place.

Whose work is whose

The writing on this site, the episodes and the report belong to Matt Mason. The name On the Clock and the show’s branding do too.

The site comes as it is

This site and everything on it are provided as they are, with no warranty of any kind. No promise is made that it will be accurate, complete, current, uninterrupted, or fit for any particular purpose. To the fullest extent the law allows, Matt Mason is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising out of this site, the report, or the show — including lost profit, lost revenue or lost data — and total liability for any claim connected to them is limited to one hundred dollars. None of this limits liability for fraud, for wilful misconduct, or for anything else the law does not permit to be limited. Paid engagements are not covered by this section; the written agreement governs those.

Links to other places

Where this site links somewhere else — a guest’s business, a tool, an article — that’s a pointer, not an endorsement, and what happens on the other end isn’t Matt’s to control.

Which law applies

These terms are governed by the law of the State of Michigan, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of this site, the report or the show shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Kent County, Michigan, and you agree those courts may hear it. If any part of this page turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands.

Changes

These terms can change; the date at the top says when they last did. A material change gets a note on this page before it takes effect, and it won’t be applied backwards to something that already happened.
